50 Days of Easter Food Challenge
Our new Keystone Conference is challenging all of the churches in our conference to donate non-perishable food to those in need between Easter (4/5/26) and Pentecost (5/24/26) this year. With this mind we have placed donation slips inside the “Blessing Box” as well as the food closet in the church. If you are dropping off donations, please fill out a slip so that we may report our donations to the conference. In addition, we would like to do a special collection of non-perishable food on Children’s Day, May 3rd. The Blessing Box sees a great deal of activity each week and is regularly restocked, sometimes twice a day. So please bring your donations to church with you that morning to fill the food closet!
Childcare Volunteers
Volunteers are available to care for your infant to three-year-old child in the nursery every Sunday after the Children’s Time until the end of the service. All volunteers have appropriate clearances. If you would like to be part of this ministry, please contact Diane Hackenberg.
The nursery volunteers for May are: May 3 – Children’s Day, nursery will not be staffed; May 10 – Pam Eberhart; May 17 – Kathy King; May 24 – Diane Hackenberg; May 31 – Karen Mensch.
Wednesday Evening Bible Study; 6:30p.m.-8:00p.m.
"But I say to you..." Jesus had heard what was said before him and how others gave interpretation to these sayings. They appeared in Holy Scripture and later oral and written commentaries. In the Sermon on the Mount found in Matthew 5-7, Jesus challenges these sayings by giving his own counsel, in earshot of the scribes and the leaders and protectors of an inherited religious tradition. Let us together explore what Jesus had to say, and how we are to incorporate his counsel into our lives.
We will ask and respond to several questions and concerns: Who is called to follow this counsel from Jesus? What if these counsels are deemed to difficult to follow? How are they to be applied in the 21st century?
Please join us for several Wednesday evenings as we engage in lively discussion about following Jesus as the church in today's world.

VBS – “Junkyard Redemption”
Just a note to let you know that Bible School will take place June 8-12. Our theme is “Junkyard Redemption.” We are pretty much underway with people heading the different areas. We are in need of a bike for display that needs “a lot” of attention and we will keep you posted of other items. If anyone is interested in helping with crafts, games, snacks, setting up decorations, assisting with the classes, please call Sharon Rein (570-713-9503) or Judy Willow (570-412-2814). We need Dreisbach Helpers!
Community VBS
The children will once again have the opportunity to take part in a second VBS program this summer. The community VBS will take place July 6th – July 9th at the Mifflinburg Community Park. More information will be shared as we receive it.
Upcoming Meetings
· Prime-timers for May will be on the 28th at East Side Diner at 12:30 pm.
· Consistory will meet on Tuesday, June 19th @ 7:00 pm.
Weekend Food Program
Thank you to everyone that helped fill the bags for the Weekend Food Program! Dreisbach was able to step in and take on the challenge of filling a second month of food bags at the last minute. We filled more than 800 bags in March and April! Again, a huge thank you to everyone that helped and donated to make this possible.
Summer Break
With the coming summer break from school Bonnie Dodge will also be taking a break from teaching the children’s Sunday School throughout the summer months.
