Wednesday Evening Bible Study; 6:30p.m.-8:00p.m.
"But I say to you..." Jesus had heard what was said before him and how others gave interpretation to these sayings. They appeared in Holy Scripture and later oral and written commentaries. In the Sermon on the Mount found in Matthew 5-7, Jesus challenges these sayings by giving his own counsel, in earshot of the scribes and the leaders and protectors of an inherited religious tradition. Let us together explore what Jesus had to say, and how we are to incorporate his counsel into our lives.
We will ask and respond to several questions and concerns: Who is called to follow this counsel from Jesus? What if these counsels are deemed to difficult to follow? How are they to be applied in the 21st century?
Please join us for several Wednesday evenings as we engage in lively discussion about following Jesus as the church in today's world.

Playground
Consistory is excited to announce they are working on plans for a new playground at the church! The plans include a play structure purchased from Sunset Poly Furniture. The structure will include several swings, a slide, tower and other accessories. Andy Willow has generously offered to provide the play surface under the playset as well as another piece of equipment suitable for toddlers. The playground will be placed in the grassy area on the backside of the church and will be fenced for safety reasons.
Thank You!
Consistory would like to offer a huge thank-you to everyone who volunteered their time and talents to a hugely successful Spring Rummage Sale. Your hard work and enthusiasm have not gone unnoticed, and we are so thankful to all of you and all you do for Dreisbach!
Rummage Wrap Up
A big thank you goes to all who helped make the rummage sale another success. You made soup. You baked. You made food. You lifted and moved and unloaded many boxes. You loaded furniture. You donated items. Those of us at the sale worked and fellowshipped, ate and laughed together. The rummage sale is much more than a set of numbers, but here is the report in digits – get out your fingers and toes. We sold one Dreisbach cookbook - $5.00. Sixty quarts of soup - $480. Many baked goods - $688.25. And countless pieces of rummage - $6,226.87.
Childcare
Volunteers are available to care for your young child in the nursery every Sunday after the Children’s Time until the end of the service. All volunteers have appropriate clearances. If you would like to be part of this ministry, please contact Diane Hackenberg.
The volunteers for June are: June 7 – Sharon Rein; June 14 – VBS closing; June 21 – Michelle Owens; June 28 – Kathleen Swartzlander.
