VBS – “Junkyard Redemption”

Just a note to let you know that Bible School will take place June 8-12. Our theme is “Junkyard Redemption.”  We are pretty much underway with people heading the different areas.  We are in need of a bike for display that needs “a lot” of attention and we will keep you posted of other items.  If anyone is interested in helping with crafts, games, snacks, setting up decorations, assisting with the classes, please call Sharon Rein (570-713-9503) or Judy Willow (570-412-2814).  We need Dreisbach Helpers!

Easter Egg Hunt

Our Easter Egg Hunt will take place on Saturday, April 4th at 10:00am!  The event will take place rain or shine.  Children ages 10 and under are welcome to participate.  We would love some help filling the eggs the evening of Wednesday, April 1st at 6:00pm downstairs in the social hall!

Parish Register

With the creation of the new Keystone Conference they are urging all churches within the conference to create and maintain a “Parish Register”. So, with that in mind consistory is requesting that all members fill out to the best of your knowledge an information sheet with vital information such as births, baptisms, confirmation and wedding dates as well as locations.  All information provided to Dreisbach will be kept at Dreisbach and not shared with the conference.  Any assistance that you can provide to family members would also be great help.  Information sheets are available at the back of the sanctuary and will be included in the next newsletter. Thank you

Adopt-A-Highway

On Sunday, April 26th, following the worship service Dreisbach’s commitment to helping keep the Buffalo Valley beautiful continues with our Spring “Adopt A Highway” day!  Volunteers are needed to pick-up roadside litter on Dreisbach Church Road between Route 45 and Turkey Run Road.  Garbage bags, gloves, vests will be provided.  Your help is needed.  A signup sheet will be on the table in the rear of the church or contact Don Bowman at 570-966-0785 or donbowman@windstream.net if you can help to keep our valley beautiful.  Your support is appreciated.

Upcoming Meetings

·       Prime Timers for April will be at Larry’s Pizza & Subs on the 23rd at 12:30 pm.

·       The next meeting of the Prayer Shawl group is Tuesday, April 28th at 6:30 p.m. in the church parlor.

Spring Rummage Sale

The Spring Rummage Sale is just around the corner! We begin setting up on Sunday, May 3rd and the sale runs from May 7-9. As you begin gathering your contributions, please keep the following in mind. Only donate clean, usable items. Also, there are certain items we can no longer accept because of the challenge of selling or disposing of them. We cannot take used baby and child car seats, televisions and computer monitors, entertainment centers, mattresses, and stuffed furniture. As always, we appreciate any support of this outreach that you can offer - time, food, and donations. If you have any questions talk to Judy Willow, Holly Snyder, or Diane Hackenberg.

Children’s Day

Come celebrate the children of Dreisbach on Sunday, May 3rd during the worship service. Afterwards we’ll enjoy a special sweet treat from the Freez-N-Point ice cream truck!

50 Days of Easter Food Challenge

Our new Keystone Conference is challenging all of the churches in our conference to donate non-perishable food to those in need between Easter (4/5/26) and Pentecost (5/24/26) this year. With this mind we have placed donation slips inside the “Blessing Box” as well as the food closet in the church.  If you are dropping off donations, please fill out a slip so that we may report our donations to the conference.  In addition, we would like to do a special collection of non-perishable food on Children’s Day, May 3rd. The Blessing Box sees a great deal of activity each week and is regularly restocked, sometimes twice a day. So please bring your donations to church with you that morning to fill the food closet!

Pastor’s Vacation

Pastor John will be on vacation April 27th- May1st.  Please reach out to any member of consistory for assistance while he is away.
