Lenten Activities

Please join us on Wednesday evenings to share a simple meal and a time of study and discussion throughout Lent. The meal will take place from 6-6:30 followed by a discussion of “The Walk” by Adam Hamilton from 6:30-7:30.

In addition to our Wednesday evening gatherings Pastor John is providing us with Daily Devotions throughout Lent via Facebook each morning. Paper copies are available at the church for anyone wishing to follow along that doesn’t use Facebook.

Weekend Food Program

During the month of March, Dreisbach will once again provide bags of food to children at the Mifflinburg Elementary and Intermediate schools. We will meet this Tuesday at 6:00 pm downstairs to fill approximately 200 bags of food and again on 3/17 as well. Proceeds from our Soup and Bake Sales will cover the cost of the food so donations are not necessary but many hands make the work go quickly. We hope you’ll come and lend a hand!

Palm Sunday Brunch

Please join us following the worship service on Palm Sunday, March 29th for brunch downstairs in the social room.  The meal has been provided by consistory so just head downstairs and enjoy some time with your Dreisbach church family!

Easter Egg Hunt

Our Easter Egg Hunt will take place on Saturday, April 4th at 10:00am!  The event will take place rain or shine.  Children ages 10 and under are welcome to participate.  Look for sign up sheets in the back of the sanctuary soon!

Spring Rummage Sale

The Spring Rummage Sale is just around the corner! We begin setting up on Sunday, May 3rd and the sale runs from May 7-9. As you begin gathering your contributions, please keep the following in mind. Only donate clean, usable items. Also, there are certain items we can no longer accept because of the challenge of selling or disposing of them. We cannot take used baby and child car seats, televisions and computer monitors, entertainment centers, mattresses, and stuffed furniture. As always, we appreciate any support of this outreach that you can offer - time, food, and donations. If you have any questions talk to Judy Willow, Holly Snyder, or Diane Hackenberg.

Nursery Volunteers

Volunteers are available to care for your infant to three-year-old child in the nursery every Sunday after the Children’s Time until the end of the service. All volunteers have appropriate clearances. If you would like to be part of this ministry, please contact Diane Hackenberg.  The nursery volunteers for March are: March 1 – Sharon Rein; March 8 – Diane Hackenberg; March 15 – Pam Eberhart; March 22 – Kathleen Swartzlander; March 29 – Michelle Owens.

Upcoming Meetings

·       The Prayer Shawl group will meet on Tuesday, March 24th, at 6:30 p.m. in the back of the church. All are welcome.

·       There is still time to join Lattes & Laughs on Thursday morning! We will continue to meet in the parlor on Thursdays at 10:00 am through the month of March. But in April, with the coming warm weather (we hope), we will stop meeting until next fall.

City of Joy

Greetings Dreisbach Family -

It was another joyous and inspiring journey to City of Joy - Rwanda. Each time that I have had the privilege of returning it reminds me of the calling each of us have to serve.

Our church family is a generous one. Our local out reach from Dreisbach Church Road extends beyond our community to brothers & sisters across the state, its borders and across the globe. It is a living testament that the good works that we are called to do, have impact and meaning as we walk thru this journey called life.

The campus at City of Joy is growing … from my first visit here just four years ago to now, it is a living testament that God is doing some miraculous things here.

The construction of the new High School cafeteria began just several weeks ago and thru your generous donations we are providing the necessary equipment & essentials to equip the cafeteria and it’s personnel to serve and feed over 175 students and faculty just on this campus alone.  This school building is essential in assuring that their campus can accommodate the growing needs of the total student body of 439 students.

Thank you for helping to feed those who need it most.

For we are Gods masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Ephesians 2:10
