Fall Festival & Pie Contest
The Fall Festival is coming upon us quickly, October 11th! We need everyone’s help to make this community event a success. Judy Willow is contacting volunteers to help at the games, food stand and bake sale. If she has not spoken to you and you are able to assist, please reach out to her. We are also looking for help on Friday evening prior to the festival to haul tables and other items from the church social hall to the Gazebo and again after the completion of the Festival to return the tables and things to the church social hall. Please consider where you may be able to assist with this wonderful event.
There are sign-up sheets at the back of the sanctuary to sign up for donations to the bake sale (please remember to label your items) and some items needed for the food stand. Any questions regarding the Fall Festival -please reach out to Sharon Magyar 570-412-6310 call or text.
Fall is quickly approaching and so is the Fall Festival which means it is time to call all bakers! We need bakers young and old and in between, male and female! So, start thinking about which one of your favorite pie recipes you would like to take 1st place! Prize money will be awarded to the top three winners in each division: adult female, adult male, and youth (up to age 18).
Entry forms will be available at the back of the church and in the downstairs social room on Friday afternoon, October 10th. Please ensure all pies are delivered to the church by 10:30 am on Saturday morning, October 11th. Pies may also be brought to the church on Friday evening during setup. For $3 dollars taste all the pies and cast your vote for your top 3 favorites! Any questions see, call or text Sharon Rein at 570-713-9503. Good luck to all the contestants!
Trunk or Treat
Dreisbach will again host a fun fall event for our young as well as those who are simply young at heart on October 26th.
Spread the word about our “Trunk or Treat” from 1:30-3:30 PM at the Dreisbach UCC parking lot.
Decorate your car and pass out treats to all the kids.
Feel free to dress up too!
Wednesday Evening Bible Study
In October we will continue reading and studying Paul's letter to the Ephesians. Join us as we take an engaging and conversational look at Paul's ministry and mission to the church in Ephesus as he addresses the blessings and hope of being in a faithful relationship with Christ Jesus. Paul writes about matters of life and death, about faith and salvation, about unity and community, about human relationships and bearing up against evil, about gifts received and the work of the church. These are all issues deeply impacting the mission and ministry of Dreisbach at this very moment.
Let us gather together Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8 PM.
October 1- Ephesians 3:14-4:6
October 8- Ephesians 4:7-24
October 15- Ephesians 4:25-5:20
October 22- Ephesians 5:21-6:9
October 29- Ephesians 6:10-24
Rummage Sale Wrap-up
Many thanks to everyone who helped out with the Rummage Sale; set up crew, cashiers, baggers, donators of baked goods & soups, kitchen crew, clean up crew, donators of food items for the workers, and not least our men who greeted and worked with the customers in front of the church. It was a long week, tiring week, but a rewarding one and a great time of fellowship amongst the workers and customers. Totals: Rummage Sale - $5,753.75; Bake Sale - $658.25; Soup Sale - $472.50. The Bake and Soup Sales go towards our backpack food program which takes place in the spring. The distribution of the Rummage funds will take place October 19th after church. We welcome your input.

Sidewalk Extension
Consistory has received several quotes to extend the sidewalk in front of the church to the lower parking area. Blessed Landscape’s quote was well below the others and has been selected for the project. Expect to see the work begin in the near future. They will also be doing snow removal for the church this coming winter.
Church Directory
I’ve had a few inquiries regarding the church directory recently so I wanted to provide a refresher. The directory can be accessed in several different ways; the website is instantchurchdirectory.com, the app of the same name has a yellow background with a white church building and anyone who does not or chooses not to use electronic methods can let me know and I would be happy to provide a paper copy.
When going in the first time click on members and it will ask you to provide the email address that you used in the directory. If you have not previously provided an email or other contact information please let me know and I’ll get it entered so you can gain access to the directory. For those already in the directory please let me know if you have updates to contact information or would like to update your photo. You can also submit changes on the directory website or app. Thank you, Pam (dreisbachsecretary@gmail.com or 570-898-9774)
