Consistory Updates

·       Jerry, Detra and Sue met and prepared “Guidelines for Use of the Church” and
“Guidelines for Use of Weddings”. After discussion and minor changes to the documents, Jerry and party will rework and send out to the consistory for review. Once they have been approved the updated policies will be posted to the church website.

·       A suggestion was made and agreed upon to provide a frozen treat from Pelican’s for the kids participating in the Mifflinburg community VBS at the park this coming week.

·       Water pump repairs will begin on July 7th. The church will be without water while these repairs take place.  It is uncertain how long the repairs will take until they can get into it and determine how extensive the problems are. Again, please be aware that if you stop into the church there may be no water.  Please do not attempt to use the restroom facilities.

Vacation Bible School

Everyone had a great time at “Magnified” bible school this year where the kids discovered the bigness of God in the smallest of things.  We had 41 children registered for the week.  Many thanks to all those people who worked behind the scenes and to those who donated food items.  Garret and Maddie (Metzger) Kratina (both biologists) came Friday night and gave a hands on presentation of bugs in our environment and waters.  The children loved this part of bible school.  The week’s offering totaled $244.75.  A check for $500 will be donated to The Middle Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association which focuses on protecting and promoting the vibrancy of the Susquehanna River, its tributaries and the creatures that depend on it all. Thanks to all of the people who setup the auction and those of you who donated the gift items for the ticket offerings and the silent auction. Thanks to all of you who purchased tickets and bought silent auction items.  We made $2,247.
