February 2024 Consistory Highlights

·       Holy Week Activities were discussed.  A schedule is included below.

·       The organ was serviced on February 19.

·       The keypad will be changed on April 15. See a consistory member or Pam for the new code.

March 24 - Palm Sunday - Brunch after service.  Meal provided.

No Wednesday evening service

Maundy Thursday Service - Light Meal 5:30

Good Friday Service - 7:00

Easter Sunday - Sunrise service @ 7:30, Breakfast @ 8:15, Regular service @ 9:15

 


 

Upcoming Meetings

·       Prime timers for March will be on the 28th at DC coffee & tea at 12:30 p.m.

·       Consistory will meet March 19th at 7:00PM.

 


Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday, March 23, 2024, 10 AM

Children 10 and under

 

A sign-up sheet for children is in the back.

If you'd like to volunteer to hide eggs and/or supervise a group of children as they hunt eggs, please see Sandy or Sharon M.

The sign-up sheet for eggs and candy for the eggs is also in the back.  Monetary donations can also be given to Sandy or Sharon.  Thanks!

 

 


Wednesday Evening Lenten Meals and Worship

 

 5:30-6:45 PM. A Journey Through Ephesians  

 - A light meal followed by a time of worship downstairs in the social room.

Summer VBS

Our VBS Program - "Camp Firelight" will take place June 10-14 from 6:30-8:30 P.M.  We need help in the following areas - Snacks, Decorations, Crafts and Games.   Children - ages 3-6th grade are eligible.  Please note that if you can help one night or a couple hours of your time would be greatly appreciated!  Any questions, please contact Judy Willow at 570-412-2814.

 


 

Adopt-a-Highway

On Sunday April 7, following the worship service (10:30) Dreisbach's commitment to helping keep the Buffalo Valley beautiful continues with our Spring "Adopt A Highway" day! Volunteers are needed to pick-up roadside litter on Dreisbach Church Road between Route 45 and Turkey Run Road. Garbage bags, gloves, vests will be provided. Your help is needed. A signup sheet will be on the table in the rear of the church or contact Don Bowman at 570-966-0785 or donbowman@windstream.net by March 31 if you can help to keep our valley beautiful. Your support is appreciated.

 


 

Mifflinburg Backpack Program

March is Backpack month at Dreisbach! We will be filling backpacks with food for the weekends each week in March for approximately 190 students in the Mifflinburg school district. Please make use of the plastic totes in the vestibule for food contributions.  Monetary donations are always welcome as well. We will be filling the bags on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 starting on March 5th.  Please reach out to Pam Pfirman if you have any questions (570-898-9774, pam_adminsec@dreisbachucc.org)

Needs include:

            Mac – Cheese Cups                Chef Boyardee Microwave Pasta Meals

            Granola Bars                           Juice Pouches/Boxes

            Pudding                                  Pop-Tarts

Childcare Volunteers

Volunteers are available to care for your child in the nursery every Sunday after the Children’s Time until the end of the service. Parents and caretakers are welcome to send their children to the nursery during that time. All volunteers have appropriate clearances. If you would like to participate in this ministry, please contact Diane Hackenberg.

The volunteers for March are: March 3 – Michelle Owens; March 10 – Mike Finerghty; March 17 – Diane Amabile; March 24 – Amber Leitzel; March 31 – Easter – the nursery will be available for parents and their children, but it will not be staffed.
