Remember the fallen, Honor those that serve, and Teach the next generation about the value of freedom.

The Membership Committee at Dreisbach United Church of Christ hosted the 2nd Veterans Christmas Remembrance Celebration on December 15, 2018 @ 10am. The program followed the format of Wreaths Across America (WAA). WAA volunteers were anticipated to place over 1.5 million veterans’ wreaths at 1,400+ locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea, and abroad. Dreisbach's goal of this effort is to spread patriotism and commemoration, during the Christmas season, for the ultimate sacrifices these veterans made for our country.

Wreaths were placed following a celebratory program held in the church’s sanctuary led by Master of Ceremonies, LT COL (Retired) Andy Mahoney of the Bucknell Military Science program. Senator Gene Yaw, State Representative Fred Keller, the PA National Guard Color Guard, Angella Laubach of Bugles Across America, and other local veterans participated in the program. 70+ volunteers assisted in wreath placement on the 105 veterans graves buried at Dreisbach. Over 130 people were in attendance at the celebratory program. Patriotic music and light refreshments were offered.

The 3rd Annual Wreaths Across America celebration will be held at Dreisbach on Saturday, December 14, 2019 @ 10AM.

2019 wreath sponsorships are now being accepted. Each wreath costs $20 and you do not need to be present on the National Wreaths Day to lay the wreath as many volunteers assist in that effort each year. To sponsor a wreath locally made, click here to print the 2019 order form and mail or drop off with your cash or check payment to Dreisbach United Church of Christ, Attn: Wreaths Across America, 875 Dreisbach Church Road, Lewisburg, PA 17837. Please note, while we do accept donated wreaths through the official WAA site, the wreaths needed for Dreisbach gravesites are ordere through the Membership Committee directly and purchased locally. Any wreaths ordered through the WAA site are given to attendees to take to other veteran graves in the area for remembrance this Christmas season following the celebration program each year.
